Ensembles and Orchestras

Cambrian Guitar Ensemble and Orchestra 

Directed by Professor Dr. Matthew Gould.

The ensemble performs regularly across Ontario most recently at Warehouse Jamz at D’Addario Canada in Toronto, Guitars Alive Concerts in Sudbury, Art Gallery of Sudbury, and the Alla Grande Guitar Festival in Ottawa. Here is a video the Guitar Orchestra on Warehouse Jamz in Toronto playing “City of 1000 Strings” by Cuban composer Leo Brouwer.


Cambrian Choir and Chamber Choir

Founded in 2012, the Cambrian College Chamber Choir is comprised of a select group of music students and directed by professor Pamela Teed.  Singing strictly a cappella music, this ensemble has performed throughout the Sudbury community and was invited to the provincial level of the Kiwanis music festival for two consecutive seasons.

Sudbury Youth Orchestra

The Sudbury Youth Orchestra (SYO), founded in 1972, is an award-winning non-profit organization that provides a caliber of orchestral playing comparable to that found in any major Canadian city. Members range in age from 11 to their early 20’s. The Orchestra is conducted by Jamie Arrowsmith who holds degrees from the Eastman School of Music and Kent State University.

The orchestra operates through Cambrian College in Sudbury, Ontario and is the only musical organization in Sudbury offering musical instruction and experience in orchestral repertoire for the young.

Directed by Professor Dr. Geoffrey Tiller.


Cambrian Percussion Ensemble

Directed by Professor Ian Gibson. Study at one of Canada’s most diverse percussion programs. Major in either Classical Percussion, Drumset, Marimba, Jazz Vibraphone or Scottish Drumming!
